This video is a bit different from my usual ones. As I explain in the vid, my passion for aviation follows from a love for travel, which I got as a result of my climbing / mountaineering hobby. As part of that hobby I went on an expedition to climb the highest mountain in North America; Denali (6192 meters or 20310 feet above sea level). I summited on the june 6th 2011, so recently celebrated the 5th anniversary of that summit – hence this video!

Denali Summit

On the summit of Denali – 6 june 2011

When you start an expedition to Denali, you fly in from the town of Talkeetna, Alaska. There are several air taxi services, we used Talkeetna Air Taxi to take us to the Kahiltna Glacier for our glacier landing.

My team, which was guided by Alaska Mountaineering School, and I were lucky to reach the summit after only 16 days. Up to High Camp we had good weather, although in once there we were stuck for 3 nights. After those tent-bound days, we attempted as summit push and made it to the top!

I hope you enjoy the video. If you would like to see more videos like this, more travel/adventure oriented, please let me know!
