This Thailand Trip Intro post is to introduce you to the upcoming NeverNotFlying videos about my Trip to Thailand (duh).
Thailand Trip Intro
So, last may, we (we = my girlfriend and I) had planned to go on a trip to Thailand. But, we did not have our flights yet. Luckily, a decent fare from BA presented itself soon.
However, this was a flight from Amsterdam via London to Singapore – not Thailand.
No problem – just take a regional flight! As I thought this over, it occured to me that this would be a nice opportunity to try a couple of local low-cost airlines, and compare them!
And so we did.
BA, Scoot, NOK, VietJet & JetStar
So our route was Amsterdam-London-Singapore. Flying from Singapore to Thailand, Bangkok DMK to be exact, was with Scoot.
We chose this flight because it was on one of their Boeing 787 Dreamliners, and not one of their regional narrow-bodies.
After staying a few days in Bangkok, we flew from Bangkok DMK to Chiang Mai (CNX) on NOK Air.
I had NO idea what to expect of this airlines, but it turned out to be one of the best flights!
After our stay in Chiang May (which was far, far too short), we flew back to Bangkok. BKK airport this time. On VietJet. Another low-cost carrier that turned out to be pretty good!
Finally we flew from Bangkok BKK back to Singapore on JetStar Asia. Compared to the others, I found this flight to be more expensive.
After that, it was back to Europe.
As this was a Trip Intro, introducing a number of flights, I will not write about the value of each individual airlines.
I will be making dedicated videos on all of the flights.
*rating is totally subjective, and totally my own 🙂
